Business Development Manager

Based in Montreal, our client a large insurance brokerage is looking for a Business Development Manager to join its team. This is an amazing opportunity for someone looking to develop within a growth oriented entrepreneurial organisation. Working very closely with VP of Business Development, the Business Development Manager will be responsible for supporting the generation of new business, meeting administrative, legal, sales and operational targets and requirements. The role will also involve thorough understanding of services, pricing and its respective insurance markets, and be an integral supportive role in driving ongoing sales and identifying new opportunities for growth.

Key accountabilities
-Support the establish and build new relationships with existing and potential clients
-Maintain existing relationships in order to protect existing book of business
-Be prepared to travel throughout Montreal and Quebec to support Business Development operations
-Develop an in depth understanding of Client solutions
-Co-ordinate sales and marketing campaigns to prospects
-Prepare and be able to present in front of clients with the VP of Business Development
-Provide feedback to the underwriting department to ensure quality service and underwriting standards are maintained
-Assist VP Business Development with Client service and product and business queries
-Assist in general department matters when required
-Demonstrate business planning skills to achieve visitation & sales targets
-Manage a book of business

-Knowledge of the Insurance industry
-Bilingual (English and French)
-Business development and marketing skills
-Excellent interpersonal skills to develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
-Written and oral communication
-Negotiation skills
-A driven sales approach that ensures targets are met
-Demonstrated commercial acumen and strong understanding of business requirements
-Excellent analytical skills
-Computer literate i.e. Microsoft Office & Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint
